Daily bag limits Ducks: 6 ducks which may NOT include more than: 4 mallards
(not more than 2 hen mallards), 1 black duck, 3 wood ducks, 2 pintails, 2 scaup, 2 redheads, 2 canvasbacks, 4 long-tailed ducks, 4 eiders, and 4 scoters. Mergansers: 5 mergansers although not more than 2 hooded mergansers.
Merganser limits are in addition to regular ducks.
Canada Geese (Regular season): Coastal Zone: 5 Canada goose bag limit is singly or in aggregate to include cackling and white-fronted geese
Youth Days: 6 ducks with same species restrictions, 1 brant, or 5 (Coastal Zone) Canada geese, 25 light geese.
Licenses, Permits and Stamps Information
In Addition to a valid NJ Resident or Non Resident Firearms Licence
Anyone 16 or older who hunts waterfowl must possess a New Jersey Waterfowl Stamp (now printed directly on your license at the time of purchase) in addition to the Federal Migratory Bird Stamp. Both stamps are valid for the fiscal year, July 1– June 30. A Harvest Information Program (HIP) certification is also required
Firearm & Ammunition. 12 gauge #3 & #4 steel shot for ducks. You may prefer bismuth or tungsten. #1 steel shot, we often get some shots at geese. We suggest at least 2 boxes per person unless regulated in certain areas.
